In an interview with Kabar news agency, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov explained how corruption has been almost completely eliminated in the customs system of the country.
He noted that 5-10 percent of corruption is still present even in countries, which are considered to be corruption-free.

«There are cases when, hiding behind my name or a relative, they work for their own interests. It is not always possible to detect this immediately. However, I order the immediate arrest of such people,» he said.
According to the head of state, this to some extent depends on the set of mind of Kyrgyzstanis.
«A lot of people take pictures with me. There are thousands of them. They are manipulating these photographs and threatening some officials,» the president said.

«I’m working on this now, and soon we will finally put an end to the issue. The customs and tax sector accounts for almost 90 percent of the republican budget. And strict control over these two sectors is necessary,» the president concluded.
