Piloting of a new electronic database of statistics on Kyrgyz migrants has been completed in Jalal-Abad region. The press service of the Ministry of Labor, Social Security and Migration reported.
The pilot project «Care for Migrants» is a new tool for collecting and recording information about the flow of migrants at the local level.
«As part of the project, information about citizens working abroad was collected in six rural areas of Suzak district during a door-to-door survey. More than 6,000 families of migrant workers were included in the database, which will make it possible to clearly monitor statistics in the field of migration,» the ministry noted.
In the future, it is planned to extend the system to the territory of the entire republic, which will allow large-scale recording of migrants and their families, show the real picture of migration flows and provide the state with opportunities to make decisions in the field of regulating migration and promoting safe migration among the population of Kyrgyzstan.
