The Blind Fest Festival will be held in Bishkek on November 13. The Kyrgyz Federation of the Blind reported on social media.
The festival will begin with a march, which will start at the noon at the intersection of Erkindik Boulevard and Bokonbaev Street. It will end near Bishkek Park shopping center, where the main events will take place.
«We want to draw attention to the challenges and opportunities for development of people with visual impairments through positive and peaceful methods,» the organizers said.
Guests will be able to try a variety of activities, including learning the basics of writing using the Braille system and cooking using the «blind» method. They will be able to ride a tandem bicycle and run as an accompanying person with a blind para-athlete.
The festival will end with a large conference, the main purpose of which is to discuss the adaptation of the blind to a full life and the features of their inclusion in modern society.
