«The Organization of Turkic States is growing stronger every year, and I hope that with our joint efforts it will become an important regional association based on historical, cultural and spiritual commonality,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said at the 10th summit of the Heads of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Astana (Kazakhstan).
The President noted that the summit took place during a difficult period of global crises and changes that require joint efforts to overcome them. Therefore, the OTS must further promote and develop cooperation between countries on the basis of the adopted strategic documents «Vision of the Turkic World 2040» and the five-year «Strategy of the Organization of Turkic States». In addition, Sadyr Japarov noted that the adopted documents — the Astana Act and the final Declaration of the summit cover key areas of cooperation. Kyrgyzstan will make its efforts to further implement the assigned tasks.
«Today’s summit is held on the theme TURKTIME. Kyrgyzstan pays special attention to the development of multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of the OTS, especially considering that the goals and priorities for the development of Turkic cooperation are generally consistent with the economic policy pursued in Kyrgyzstan. I consider it important for our Turkic countries to join efforts to increase economic potential and move towards sustainable development,» the head of state noted.
He spoke in favor of creating a Turkic Investment Fund. The President believes that its launch is especially relevant in the context of structural changes, when it is important to maintain and expand the availability of various financial market instruments necessary to meet business needs and implement business plans.
«Another relevant area of cooperation is interaction within the framework of digital transformation. Our country has a High Technology Park and a Creative Industries Park, which includes 99 types of activities. I propose organizing a Digital Forum of OTS member states in Kyrgyzstan in 2024,» the head of state said.
Sadyr Japarov also proposed to initiate cooperation between designated postal operators of the OTS member states by creating a working group to implement the concept of developing postal exchange at reduced rates. The President called for working to create favorable conditions for uniting manufacturers and entrepreneurs of Turkic countries and paying attention to further strengthening interaction between Turkic cooperation organizations — TURKSOY, the Turkic Academy and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and stepping up work on the development of the tourism industry.
Sadyr Japarov proposed declaring the city of Jalal-Abad the tourist capital of the Turkic world in 2025, which is located on one of the branches of the Great Silk Road.
At the end of his speech, Sadyr Japarov stressed that the Kyrgyz side is ready to host the next summit in 2024 in Kyrgyzstan.
«We are always ready to contribute to the reliable development of the organization, constructive and productive cooperation between the Turkic countries, strengthening friendly and close neighborly relations,» he concluded.
