Kyrgyzstani Akzhol Makhmudov won a gold medal at the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament within the Asian Games in China. The Games’ website reports.
In the weight category up to 77 kilograms in the finals, the Kyrgyzstani’s opponent was a wrestler from Iran. Akzhol Makhmudov turned out to be stronger.
Akzhol Makhmudov defeated Sophak Keo from Cambodia in 33 seconds, then Azat Sadykov from Kazakhstan — 9:0.
Earlier, Zholaman Sharshenbekov became the champion of the Asian Games, and Razzak Beishekeyev won a bronze medal. Another Kyrgyzstani Atabek Azisbekov will also compete for third place.
Kyrgyzstan now has three gold and three bronze medals at the 2023 Asian Games.
