At least 95.6 percent out of 10,000 participants of the Social Contract program are women. Press service of the Ministry of Labor of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to its data, the participation of women in Osh region reaches 99.4 percent of the total number of participants. Of these, more than 7,500 are implementing projects in the field of agriculture, over 1,300 have launched various production facilities.
As for the manufacturing sector, 1,100 have opened sewing workshops, the rest produce semi-finished products, bakery and confectionery products, and other food products. The rest work in the trade and service sectors.
Almost 13,000 low-income families, who have already begun to receive income, are taking part in the Social Contract program.
As noted, the effectiveness of the program is largely ensured by the training of potential participants in financial literacy and business planning organized by the Ministry of Labor.
