Kyrgyzstan launches chatbot to prevent online violence on social media

The forum «Hate speech and gender violence in online space KG: Time for decisive action!» was held in Bishkek, where a chatbot developed by the Ombudsman’s Institute was presented.

According to project expert Almaz Ismanov, the chatbot on Telegram will be available around the clock. It is now working in test mode.

«There are sections about hate speech and online violence. The bot is available in Kyrgyz and Russian. In the first section you can get information about hate speech and online violence. The second section provides links to laws of Kyrgyzstan preventing all forms of violence. The third section gives recommendations to users based on real cases,» he said.

The chatbot is designed to prevent online violence, including hate speech against women and girls in the online space. The bot is available on a search engine under the nickname «chatbot akyikatchy 115».
