Sadyr Japarov to visit Brussels to sign agreement with European Union

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov was invited to Brussels. The head of state will go there to sign anEnhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. The Chairman of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, representative of Christian Democrats party, and Chairman of the European Parliament’s mission to the Kyrgyz Republic David McAllister announced at a briefing.

According to him, Kyrgyzstan is an important partner of the European Union in Central Asia. Now the parties are starting a new era by signing the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement.

«We have resolved the legal issues and it is already planned to sign the agreement in the near future. It will be in Brussels. According to the rules, all legal agreements must go through the procedure of evaluation and approval by the European Parliament, this visit was useful to resolve all the issues,» David McAllister said.

The initialing of the new Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union took place back in 2019. But it was not signed.
