II CIS Games: Nurzat Nurtaeva wins first gold medal in women's wrestling

The national team of Kyrgyzstan won the first gold medal at the II Games of the CIS countries. Nurzat Nurtayeva won the medal in women’s wrestling.

In the final match, she competed with an opponent from the Belarusian team Viktoria Radkova in the category up to 72 kilograms.

Earlier, Kyrgyzstanis Bermet Nuridin kyzy and Dilnaz Sazanova also competed in women’s wrestling. Bermet Nuridin kyzy won a bronze, Dilnaz Sazanova — a silver medal.

The II Games of the CIS countries are held in Belarus from August 4 to August 14. About 2,200 athletes from 22 countries of the world take part in the Games. In total, sportsmen compete for 1,672 medals in 20 sports.

Kyrgyzstan is represented at the Games by about 200 athletes in 17 sports.
