The parties discussed the observance of human rights in Kyrgyzstan.
Jamilya Jamanbayeva noted the contribution of the U.S. Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to the promotion of fundamental values of human rights, democracy, the rule of law and civil society in the republic.
«As part of cooperation with USAID, a number of important projects have been implemented that are necessary to promote high standards of human rights and freedoms, including Zhigerduu Zharandar and Ukuk Bulagy,» the Ombudsperson said.
The U.S. Ambassador noted the importance of respecting the freedom of activities of non-profit organizations in Kyrgyzstan.
«The role of civil society is important in upholding the rights of citizens. In this regard, it is important to ensure the freedom of activity of representatives of civil society,» the diplomat said.
The parties discussed the importance of activating a number of joint projects, which will definitely have a positive impact on ensuring human rights and freedoms in Kyrgyzstan.
Jamilya Jamanbayeva agreed that it is necessary to take a set of measures aimed at improving the human rights and freedoms situation in Kyrgyzstan.
