Cashless payment to be introduced in Bishkek buses, trolleybuses from August 20

Cash payments will be canceled in municipal buses and trolleybuses of Bishkek from August 20. Press service of the City Hall reported.

It reminded that within the framework of digitalization and comprehensive steps to improve urban public transport since March 2020, the Swiss company BPC AG is implementing the electronic ticketing project Tulpar in the capital.

For a more comfortable and painless switch of city residents to cashless payments, the full transition was postponed twice within three years since the project launch.

Cash will not be accepted in municipal transport from August 20.

«From August 20 we also launch a campaign on reducing the cost of a standard transport card Tulpar from 50 soms to 30 soms when it is purchased from drivers,» the City Hall added.

In addition, it is possible to pay the fare by:

  • VISA and Elcard contactless cards of all banks in Kyrgyzstan;
  • NFC virtual card;
  • QR scanning in the application Tulpar and Balance, Mbank, Megapay and others;
  • Entering the transport code in Tulpar application.
