First books about autism in Kyrgyz language published in Kyrgyzstan

The first books about autism in the Kyrgyz language were published in Kyrgyzstan. Vice Mayor of Bishkek Victoria Mozgacheva announced on Facebook.

Authors of the books «Ozgocho Bobogum» («My Brother with Special Needs») Zeynep Ibrahim kyzy and «Autism Menen Zhashoo» («Life with Autism») Baktygul Chynybayeva are the sister and mother of a boy with special needs Urmat.

«The books provide a sincere look at daily life and challenges that a child’s family faces. In them, the authors share their personal experiences, focusing on important issues related to autism. They tell about the doubts and fears that parents experience when a diagnosis is made, and how they were able to overcome these difficulties,» the vice mayor told.

She added that the advice and guidance could be helpful for other parents who have children with autism. «The authors try to create a space for conversation and understanding in order to support other parents, as well as to educate society about what it means to be a family living with autism,» Victoria Mozgacheva said.
