Public debt of Kyrgyzstan grows by $27.29 million for month

As a result of May 2023, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external + internal) amounted to $5,667.63 billion (496,428.06 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan provided such data.

Including $4,489.7 billion (393,252.39 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,177.94 billion (103,175.67 billion soms) is internal one.

Over the month, the level of public debt grew by $27.29 million. External debt reduced by $35.23 million and the domestic debt increased by $62.53 million.

As a result of May 2023, the public debt reached 53.55 percent of GDP.

Over a half of the external debt of the republic (51.5 percent) is multilateral loans — $2,312.65 billion. The country owes other $2,124.06 billion (47.3 percent of external debt) within the framework of bilateral concessional loans. At least 38.6 percent is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which at the end of May 2023 amounted to $1,734.58 billion.
