Kyrgyzstan's state debt exceeds $6 billion

At the end of October, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external and internal) amounted to $6,590 billion (535,972.58 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance provided the data.

As noted, $4,482.43 billion (400,370.38 billion soms) is external debt, $1,518.16 billion (135,602.2 billion soms) is internal one.

Over the month, the state debt increased by $13.58 million. External debt decreased by $4.15 million, internal debt increased by $17.72 million.

At the end of October, public debt reached 57.82 percent of GDP.

More than half (52.4 percent) of the external debt is multilateral loans of Kyrgyzstan — $2,347.93 billion. The country owes other $2,077.55 billion (46.3 percent of external debt) as part of bilateral concessional loans. Of these, 38.1 percent of the republic’s external debt is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which amounted to $1,705.85 billion at the end of October.
