Pakistani detained for treating cancer patients without medical education

A citizen of Pakistan was detained in Alamedin district of Kyrgyzstan for fraud and illegal medical activities. Press service of the Central Internal Affairs Department of Chui region reported.

«A victim applied to the police on April 24 with a request to take action against a man named Siddik. In February, promising to cure her son of cancer, he received $5,500. The child did not get better, but the man continued to demand more money for medicines. A criminal case was opened on the grounds of a crime under Articles 209 (fraud) and 152 (illegal medical activity) of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. The man was identified as a 40-year-old citizen of the Republic of Pakistan S.U.R., who, without an appropriate medical education and documents for medical practice, illegally treated patients with expired drugs,» the statement says.

The suspect was arrested and placed in a temporary detention center.
