At least 41 Kyrgyzstanis convicted of involvement in terrorist activities are kept in Iraqi prisons. Press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.
Two citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, who had served their sentences in closed institutions of Iraq, were returned to homeland in February.
On March 16, as part of Meerim humanitarian mission, 79 Kyrgyz children were returned from Iraq.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working on the possible release and repatriation of 41 citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic to their homeland.
