Chairman of the Green Energy Fund Emilbek Orozbaev told about the energy potential of the country at the round table «Iceland and Kyrgyzstan. Strengthening cooperation in the field of renewable energy sources: hydropower and geothermal energy». The event was attended by the companies of Iceland that are developing projects in the field of renewable energy.
Emilbek Orozbekov noted that the structure was created to form an effective management system in the field of green energy and is aimed at stimulating the development, implementation and production of energy-saving renewable energy technologies.
«To date, the investment potential of renewable energy projects is about $1.3 billion, which is equivalent to about 1.5-2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, depending on the specifics of the generation of each type of renewable energy and weather conditions. A list of 88 promising sites for the construction of small hydroelectric power plants has already been prepared. We are interested in fruitful and effective cooperation with investors,» the official concluded.
