Restoration of Batken: 332 families move into new houses

At least 332 houses have been commissioned in Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. Daiyrbek Orunbekov, head of the Information Policy Service of the Presidential Administration, announced.

He noted that 422 houses were damaged as a result of an armed clash in the region in September 2022. At least 418 of them were built anew, four houses were overhauled.

According to Daiyrbek Orunbekov, the head of the Cabinet Akylbek Japarov visited the border villages and got acquainted with the restoration of destroyed residential facilities, talked with local residents.

At the meeting, Akylbek Japarov answered questions regarding the border, spring field work and other social issues.

«The issues of borders have been resolved with Uzbekistan. We will also resolve them with Tajikistan. The issue is under the control of the head of state. At the instruction of the President, the restoration of destroyed houses is being completed. Let there be only good events from now on,» said Akylbek Japarov.

Daiyrbek Orunbekov stressed that the remaining 86 houses would be commissioned in March.

Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 206 victims, 63 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, 420 houses of local residents were destroyed.
