The unfinished building on the territory of the National Center of Oncology and Hematology in Bishkek was handed over to the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA).
As KSMA rector Indira Kudaibergenova told 24.kg news agency, the documents have already been drawn up.
«The object has been idle for almost six years, so it was decided to hand it over to us for further construction. We have passed the examination of the Seismic Institute. According to experts, construction can continue. We plan to start the process this year. Funds for this have already been allocated. The building will be seven-story, as it was originally planned,» she said.
According to Indira Kudaibergenova, it is planned to open a multidisciplinary clinic with cardiology, pulmonology and other general departments. Two floors will be allocated for hematology department. The hospital will have 300 beds.
Construction of the center began in autumn 2017. The original design provided for seven floors, but the funds were enough for work from the zero to the fourth floor. The object was built without an approved project.
It was planned to place a children’s department of oncohematology in this building. However, in September 2021, it was moved to a new building constructed at the National Center for Maternal and Child Welfare. Officials have repeatedly promised to raise funds to complete the facility, but failed.
