The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan proposes for public discussion a package of amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes. They relate to the illegal organization and holding of gambling games.
Clandestine casinos, illegal betting shops and sweepstakes using gambling equipment, including on the Internet, will be punished by imprisonment for a term of five to seven years.
There are also aggravating circumstances. If an organized criminal group commits the same act or children are involved in the process, then one can be sentenced to 7 — 12 years in prison for such a crime.
Gaming accessories, including slot machines, bet and win values, and other income received as a result of participation in such games, will be confiscated.
A fine of 200,000 soms is imposed for violation or non-compliance by the organizer of gambling activities with the requirements of the law.
