229,000 families live in poverty in Kyrgyzstan

At least 229,000 families live in poverty in Kyrgyzstan. The Minister of Labour, Social Security and Migration, Kudaibergen Bazarbaev, said at a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration.

According to him, 103,000 families receive ui-bulogo komok allowance.

It should be noted that the Cabinet of Ministers takes a loan from the International Development Association under the project «Strengthening Social Assistance Programs and the Labor Market» in the amount of $30 million. At least 1,500 citizens will get assistance within the framework of Ui-bulogo Komok program, other 3,000 families in need of social support — 100,000 soms each. The loan is provided for 50 years without interest.

The committee upheld the agreement in the second reading.
