As of January 15, schools in Kyrgyzstan lack 702 teachers. The Ministry of Education and Science informed 24.kg news agency.
According to the ministry, Chui region lacks most of the teachers (257 people), Naryn region (5) and Osh (7) — the least.
There is a shortage of 138 teachers in Bishkek, 98 — in Batken, 69 — in Osh, 43 — in Issyk-Kul, and 32 — in Talas regions.
There is a lack of teachers of physics, mathematics, primary classes in schools with the Russian language of instruction and other subjects. The ministry puts hopes on the graduation of young specialists in 2023. In total, 14 educational institutions train teachers in the republic.
