Over the past month, the gross international reserves grew by $18.54 million. Since the beginning of the year, the figure decreased by $179.47 million. The highest level of the reserves was registered in September 2021 — $3,241.14 billion.
The National Bank uses the reserves to smooth out sharp fluctuations in the foreign exchange market. Last year, it conducted 15 interventions, including purchase of dollars in the market. In total, $190,740 million were purchased. At least $419,850 million were sold during eight interventions. Thus, the net sale of dollars in the market reached $229,110 million.
