Finance Ministry plans to participate in capitalization of energy companies

The Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan plans to invest 11 billion soms in shares of energy companies. The Deputy Minister of Finance Ruslan Tatikov said at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on the fuel, energy complex, subsoil use and industrial policy.

According to him, the ministry intends to participate in the management of the energy sector.

«This sector must be profitable. This will require capitalization of external companies. The Ministry of Finance should also participate in management. In 2023, we intend to invest 11 billion soms in shares and participate in capitalization,» Ruslan Tatikov said.

The committee considered a $58 million loan agreement with the World Bank.

The Ministry of Energy takes $50 million from the ADB for the purchase of electricity.
