New minimum retail prices for tobacco and nicotine-containing products have been set by a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan. The State Tax Service reported.
«Increase in the minimum retail price will lead to reduction in the consumption of tobacco and nicotine-containing products, which will positively influence public health,» the statement says.
According to the decree, minimum retail prices for the following types of excisable goods are introduced from January 1, 2023:
- Cigarettes (with and without filter) classified under the TN VED code 2402 — 100 soms for 20 cigarettes. The current minimum retail price is 90 soms for 20 cigarettes;
- Products with heated tobacco (heated tobacco stick, heated capsule with tobacco) of a cylindrical shape, classified under the TN VED code 2404 — 100 soms for 20 cigarettes;
- Disposable electronic nicotine delivery systems with nicotine liquid, classified under the TN VED code 2404 — 250 soms per 1 unit. From January 1, 2024, it will be 300 soms;
- Electronic cigarettes and similar individual electric evaporative devices (electronic nicotine delivery systems) classified under the TN VED code 8543400000 — 1,300 soms per 1 unit. From January 1, 2024, this price will increase by 100 soms.
