Kyrgyzstani detained at airport of India with 7.5 kilograms of gold

A citizen of Kyrgyzstan was detained at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi (India) by customs officers on suspicion of attempt to smuggle in 7.5 kilograms of gold. Ommcom News reports.

According to the media outlet, the woman arrived at the airport from Kyrgyzstan on October 27 and attempted to smuggle in four gold bars, hiding them in ingeniously made pockets in the body shaper worn by her. She failed to submit relevant documents for the gold.

Customs officers opened a criminal case on the fact of smuggling.

The woman was produced before a local court, which remanded her to 14-day judicial custody.
