A temporary ban is imposed on the export of gold ore and gold concentrate from Kyrgyzstan from May 1, 2023. The decree was signed by the President Sadyr Japarov.
The ban is imposed for a period of six months. Kara-Balta Mining Plant OJSC is granted the exclusive right to process gold ore and gold concentrate mined and produced in the country.
The State Customs and Border Services were instructed to take measures aimed at preventing the illegal export of the goods. The Cabinet was instructed to extend the ban every six months starting from November 1, 2023.
