At the end of August 2022, the public debt of Kyrgyzstan (external + internal) amounted to $5,219.62 billion (421,218.4 billion soms). The Ministry of Finance provided the data.
Including $4,179.8 billion (337,305.28 billion soms) is external debt, and $1,039.83 billion (83,913.13 billion soms) is internal one.
The size of the public debt decreased by $6.58 million for a month. At the same time, external debt decreased by $32.33 million, while domestic debt — by $38.92 million.
As a result of August, the public debt reached 59.02 percent of GDP.
The republic owes most of all in form of bilateral concessional loans — $2,197.11 billion (52.6 percent of external debt). At least 43.2 percent of the sum is the debt to the Export-Import Bank of China, which, following the results of eight months of this year, is $1,804.37 billion. Other 46.2 percent of the external debt ($1,932.35 billion) is the debt of Kyrgyzstan on multilateral loans.
