The first Olympic-level climbing wall in Central Asia will be built in Bishkek. The President of the Mountaineering and Climbing Federation of Kyrgyzstan Eduard Kubatov announced on Facebook.
«Dear friends, I am happy to share the amazing news from the Himalayas! Together with Tolon Toichubaev, the founder and owner of Bilimkana school network, Urmat Nasykulov, the manager and co-owner of Change Fitness network, Marina Galtsova and our Kyrgyz Mountaineering Federation, we are starting construction of the first in Central Asia Olympic-level climbing wall in Bishkek on Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue, at the premises of Bilimkana school!
The height of the climbing wall according to the project will be more than 15 meters with a total area of 800 square meters.
Hundreds and possibly thousands of children in five months will be able to join our incredible and powerful sport. I believe this hall will be a place of power and true Olympic development. My great respect to Tolon and Urmat for understanding, supporting and conveying common sports values,» he wrote.
A group of mountaineers from Kyrgyzstan launched Manaslu project, which was the first national expedition to the Himalayas and included climbing the peak of the same name with a height of 8,156 meters above sea level. The expedition members also brought a three-kilogram volume of the Manas epic and the flag of Kyrgyzstan to the summit.
