President Sadyr Japarov congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on the International Day of Older Persons. Press service of the President reported.
«The thousand-year history of our people testifies that our people have survived thanks to the language, ancient culture and national traditions. The Kyrgyz people have always carefully treated their centuries-old traditions, honoring and respecting the wise, far-sighted elders — the keepers of folk customs.
Feeling of gratitude to our caring fathers and full of love mothers lives in the heart of every Kyrgyzstani.
Diligently preserving the traditions and customs of ancestors, you have always overcome life’s hardships, gaining vast life experience. You, preserving the continuity of generations, pass on to us the glorious traditions of our people and educate us in a caring attitude towards them,» the text of the congratulatory message says.
The head of state recalled that his first decree in office was the decree on the spiritual and moral development and physical education of the individual. He noted that it is the older generation that preserves traditions and national values and passes them on to the youth.
«Our task is to create decent living conditions for the older generation, who carefully preserve historical, cultural and spiritual values, to support their active participation in society. We are working hard to ensure a long and dignified life for our senior citizens. The proverb says: «Honouring the elders, you will gain a conscience.» After all, honoring elders is considered righteousness. Let caring for the elderly become a daily duty for each of us,» Sadyr Japarov said.
