Foreign Ministry calls on Tajikistan to refrain from provocative statements

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan declares a resolute protest against the latest attempts by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan to open Pandora’s box and destroy the fragile peace that is being maintained through great efforts between the parties. Statement of the Foreign Ministry of the Kyrgyz Republic says.

«The statement of the Tajik side about the existence in Kyrgyzstan of some kind of «policy of persecution of citizens of Tajikistan and ethnic Tajiks» is completely inappropriate and indicates that representatives of the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan are out of touch with reality and have no idea about the state of affairs in the Kyrgyz Republic,» the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan stressed.

We consider the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan provocative. The department has completely discredited itself in the eyes of the entire world community by its groundless accusations.

From the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic cited as an example the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan dated September 22, which was later urgently corrected by the Tajik side, which informed of the beating of the correspondent of the Kyrgyz service of Radio Liberty, Nasibakhon Davronbekova, an ethnic Tajik.

However, a post by user Davron Hotam (Davronbek Nasibkhonov) was published on Facebook. It states that the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan, having changed the data on his ethnicity and gender in its statement, used it for political purposes in order to denigrate the Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies.

This fact of disinformation confirms that all other cases are also fake.

«At the same time, there are appeals from Kyrgyzstanis temporarily staying on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan, and intimidated ethnic Kyrgyz with information that law enforcement officers of Tajikistan demand from them to leave the country without explanation. There are facts of increased pressure from local authorities on Kyrgyz citizens,» the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic notes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic emphasizes that international human rights organizations should conduct an investigation into the situation of ethnic Kyrgyz and nationalities in Tajikistan, which can reveal a sufficient number of facts of ethnic discrimination and human rights violations in the Republic of Tajikistan.

«The statement of the Tajik side about the violation of airspace by Kyrgyzstan is not true. Despite the agreements reached, the Tajik side continues to repeatedly use drones that fly in from the territory of Tajikistan, violating the airspace of Kyrgyzstan,» the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said in the statement.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry said that on September 20-22 a Tajik drone was seen at Kyzyl-Bel-Avtotodrozhny checkpoint in Batken region and in the area of Naiman-Ashuu pass in Alai district of Osh region.

«Regarding the Embassy of Tajikistan in Bishkek, we emphasize that the Kyrgyz side fully and in good faith fulfills its international legal obligations in accordance with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961,» the Ministry of Kyrgyzstan emphasizes.

The statement also says that there have been no requests from the diplomatic mission of Tajikistan in Kyrgyzstan about the presence of any concerns in the context of the safety of property or employees and their families.

This once again casts doubt on the authenticity of the artificial statements thrown into the public space by the Tajik side.

From the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic demands from the Tajik side to stop staging feigned hysteria, falsely manipulating the consciousness of the citizens of Tajikistan using slanderous data, creating an atmosphere of intolerance, enmity and hatred.

Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 198 victims, 59 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case on crimes against peace.
