A loan in the amount of 1.5 billion soms was allocated from the republican budget for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1. The Cabinet of Ministers confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
The recipient of the loan is Electric Stations OJSC. Kambarata HPP-1 is the largest power facility of the entire cascade.
The project provides for the construction of a rockfill dam 256 meters high and the station itself with an installed capacity of 1,860 megawatts. An average long-term electricity generation at the Kambarata HPP-1 will be 5.6 billion kilowatt-hours with a total reservoir capacity of 5.4 billion cubic meters of water.
The construction period is from 8 to 10 years. Commissioning of the first hydroelectric unit of the HPP is planned in four years, if there is permanent financing.
