Rally against opening of casinos is held near the building of Parliament in Bishkek. Activist Adilet Ali Myktybek (Adilet Baltabai) announced on Facebook.
Citizens participating in the protest hold banners, saying: «Bishkek, Kara-Suu, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Karakol, Batken are against casinos.»
The protesters argue that opening of gambling establishments will increase crime among the population and negatively affect the well-being of people.
The parliamentary committee on budget and finance is considering the bill on casinos in the second reading today.
The initiative to legalize gambling establishments caused a wide public outcry. Some support it, others oppose it, including the clergy. Sadyr Japarov called criticism against possible resumption of gambling activities in the Kyrgyz Republic «a black PR».
