The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan conducted the fifth intervention to buy foreign currency since the beginning of the year. Website of the bank says.
A total of $21.5 million were purchased with settlements on the date of the transaction and $12.2 million — with settlements other than the date of the transaction. This is the largest currency purchase this year. In total, the National Bank withdrew $80,150 million from the market.
The intervention has not yet had an impact on the market. Commercial banks and exchange offices in the capital buy the dollars for 80.5-81.5 soms and sell them for 81-82 soms. The official exchange rate is 79.5013 soms.
