«Barriers in the internal market of the EAEU remain one of the most topical issues of our meetings over the past seven years,» the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said at a meeting the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
According to him, barriers often split relations and create a negative image of the Union.
The head of the Kyrgyz Republic considers this unacceptable.
He shared the results of a study on the speed of delivery of agricultural products to Russia, conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan together with development partners in 2021. It showed that the speed of delivery of goods from third countries to the Russian Federation, which pass through several customs posts, is significantly faster and cheaper than the delivery of goods from the Kyrgyz Republic. At the same time, customs control at the internal borders of the EAEU has been canceled.
«Obviously, the presence of barriers does not allow our states to fully fulfill all the goals and objectives of integration, as well as to develop effectively. Here we have enormous hidden resources and reserves for the development of our economies, which we need to use for the sake of our countries and peoples,» Sadyr Japarov said.
