Flooding of houses in Suzak district: Emergencies Minister is at the scene

Minister of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan Boobek Azhikeev is in Suzak district, where an emergency situation was announced. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

The official met with local residents and listened to their problems. He noted that the ministry would take measures to resolve the situation and ensure public safety.

«An operational headquarters has been created, settlement of the situation is under the control of the minister. About 260 employees of the civil protection service and 135 rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are involved in removal of flood water from the flooded houses with the help of motor pumps,» the statement says.

At least 12 units of special equipment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and 30 units of the civil protection service are involved in elimination of the consequences of the disaster.

Some 606 residential buildings and 10 social facilities were flooded in Jalal-Abad region due to heavy rains.
