Kyrgyzstan has earned 64 million soms from leasing forest and non-forest lands last year. Almaz Musaev, director of the Forest Service under the Ministry of Agriculture, said at a press conference in Bishkek.
«About 325,000 hectares of forest and non-forest lands, including 277,700 hectares of forest pastures were leased. Proceeds from the lease of forest land amounted to 64,589,968 soms, including 15,025,863 — from the use of forest pastures,» he said.
The total area of the State Forest Fund of Kyrgyzstan is 2,619,700 hectares, at least 1,116,600 hectares of which are covered with forest. This is only 5.6 percent of the total territory of the republic.
