There are more than 1,100 million hectares of forest in Kyrgyzstan. Director of the Forest Service Almaz Musaev told at a press conference.
«The total forested area of the republic is 1,253,800 hectares. The total area of lands of the state forest fund is 2,538,600 hectares. Work on planting forest crops on an area of more than 1,200 hectares is carried out annually on the lands of the fund,» he said.
The head of the agency noted that forestry enterprises annually harvest more than 12 tons of seeds to ensure reforestation. More than 40 species of trees and shrubs are grown.
