Forest fires cause more than 270 million soms damage to Kyrgyzstan

Since the beginning of the year, forest fires have caused more than 270 million soms damage to Kyrgyzstan. Director of the Forest Service Almaz Musaev told at a press conference in Bishkek.

«For nine months, 13 fires occurred on the lands of the State Forest Fund on an area of 536 hectares, 85.47 hectares of which are forested area. The damage amounted to 271,102,155 soms,» he said.

An analysis of the last five years has shown that the most fire hazardous are Frunze, Toskool-Ata, Talas, Chui and Kara-Alma forestries. Most emergencies occur through the fault of local residents who do not follow safety rules during picnics. Operational firefighting teams equipped with vehicles have been created at the forestry enterprises.
