The Government of Japan will provide Kyrgyzstan with a grant of 766.3 million soms within the framework of the project on protection against snow drifts on Bishkek — Osh highway. The Information and Culture Department of the Embassy of Japan in the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The Ambassador of Japan Maeda Shigeki and the Finance Minister of Kyrgyzstan Almaz Baketayev signed exchange notes. A grant agreement was signed earlier for implementation of the project.
Snow avalanches and drifts on Bishkek — Osh road often cause reduced visibility, traffic jams and increase the risk of emergencies. The project aims to protect against snowstorms and ensure safe and unhindered traffic in winter by installing snow sheds and warning beacons.
