Emergencies Ministry rescuers of Kyrgyzstan to join INSARAG rescue group

Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan will join the international rescue group INSARAG. Press service of the ministry reported.

The head of the ministry Boobek Azhikeev met with the Program Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in the Kyrgyz Republic Osman Usta.

Boobek Azhikeev noted the high level of bilateral cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey.

The parties discussed implementation of priority projects for the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2022, development of a diving service, acquisition of a mobile decompression chamber (diving pressure chamber). Another topic of the meeting was joining the international search and rescue advisory group INSARAG to develop the potential of the search and rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Participants of the meeting discussed the possibility of creation of a Rehabilitation Center for rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in Issyk-Kul region.

INSARAG is a worldwide network of over 90 countries and organizations under the auspices of the United Nations (UN). It deals with issues related to the search and rescue operations (SAR), including during natural disasters.
