Turkey allowed mass use of the inactivated vaccine against coronavirus Turkovac. Reuters reports.
The Health Minister of Turkey Fahrettin Koca announced that the mass use of the vaccine, mass production of which has already started in the country, will begin next week.
Turkey is the ninth country to develop its own COVID-19 vaccine.
Turkey started developing Turkovac this year. The President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the country would share the vaccine with everyone.
The Turkovac vaccine was developed by scientists from Erciyes University in collaboration with the TÜSEB Turkish Institute for Health Policies under the Turkish Ministry of Health.
Earlier, Turkey conducted successful trials of the first and second phases of the vaccine against coronavirus. Later, the country’s Ministry of Health applied for listing of Turkovac for emergency use.
