The University of Oxford and the British-Swedish company AstraZeneca, which produced a vaccine against coronavirus, began to create a vaccine against the Omicron strain. Foreign media report.

According to them, the head of the research group at Oxford Sandy Douglas said that vaccines created on the basis of adenovirus can be used to respond more quickly to any new strain. Scientists believe that, if necessary, they will be able to develop a vaccine modification within 100 days.

Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that the Omicron coronavirus strain was found in 106 countries. It was also noted that it spreads faster than other coronavirus variants.
