PM asks Kazakhstan to open border for vaccinated Kyrgyzstanis

The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov, within the framework of his working trip to Kazakhstan, met with the President of the Republic Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

According to the press service of the government, he noted the high level of strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries.

A number of events are planned on the occasion of the upcoming 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the successful holding of the parliamentary elections and noted the prospects for the development of mutually beneficial relations between the fraternal states.

The parties also discussed a number of topical issues of cooperation in the field of energy, agriculture and investment.

Akylbek Japarov raised the issue of land border crossing by citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic. «Given the mutual recognition of certificates of vaccination against coronavirus infection by the two countries, I ask you to assist in opening the land borders of the Republic of Kazakhstan for vaccinated citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic,» he said.
