Kazakhstan proposed to consider the possibility of opening a joint venture with Kyrgyzstan for cultivation of sugar beets and raw sugar. It was announced at a meeting between the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the implementation of joint projects in agriculture, including the Kazakh side got interested in exchanging experience with Kyrgyz entrepreneurs engaged in sugar production.
The Kazakh side will assist in the supply of 1,000 tons of winter wheat.
Akylbek Japarov noted that the republic’s need is 12,000 tons of wheat and expressed readiness to purchase this volume from the Kazakh side.
«The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov has set the Cabinet of Ministers the task of providing the population of the republic with nine types of food, wheat is one of them. We are obliged to ensure food security of the republic and in the near future to purchase the required amount of wheat,» the Chairman of the Cabinet said.
The parties discussed implementation of joint projects to provide the population with utility and agricultural equipment.
Akylbek Japarov noted that 2,000 buses will start working in Bishkek in the near future. The transport supplier is being determined.
The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan expressed his readiness to implement the project, noting that electric buses produced in Kazakhstan are economical, safe and durable. He added that Kazakhstani entrepreneurs are ready to invest in a wide range of areas of the economy of Kyrgyzstan.
