Kyrgyzstan reaches agreement on import of 2 billion kWh of electricity

Kyrgyzstan has agreed to import 2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov announced at a meeting of the Security Council.

The head of state did not specify the country from which electricity would be imported.

The Minister of Energy Doskul Bekmurzaev said earlier that the import of electricity was stopped for technical reasons.

According to Sadyr Japarov, 4,110 power outages occurred in the country for 10 months of 2021. «So, it turns out that every day there are 10 power outages in the country. It is necessary to take measures due to the current situation,» the President said.

According to him, the debt of energy companies reached 135 billion soms.
