Building of the Infectious Diseases Department of the Regional Combined Hospital has been commissioned after major repairs in Karakol city. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.
«In order to provide assistance in the fight against coronavirus infection in Kyrgyzstan, the Asian Development Bank has launched a project, thanks to which 18 infectious diseases departments of healthcare organizations throughout the country will be overhauled and equipped with expensive and necessary medical equipment. I am sure that this will help us improve the quality of medical care,» the Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.
The repairs cost 8,853,316 soms. Other 1.5 million were allocated by the Development Fund of Issyk-Kul region for the repair of the facade of the Infectious Diseases Department.
The department is typical, with seven boxes. On average, about 1,500 patients are treated there annually. The renovation made it possible to place up to 50 additional beds.
