There is a positive downward trend in the number of fatal traffic accidents. The director of Road Safety Public Association Chynara Kasmambetova announced at a round table discussion.
According to her, the current situation with road accidents is slightly better than ten years ago.
«Kyrgyzstan has practically fulfilled the global plan of the first decade by 30 percent. If 1,000 people died on the roads in 2013, then by the end of the decade there were 700 victims. State bodies play a good role here. The results are obvious,» she said.
Earlier, civil society expressed concern about the large number of traffic accidents on the roads of Kyrgyzstan.
On November 21, Bishkek will host a march dedicated to the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.
