Members of Hizb ut-Tahrir detained in Kyrgyzstan

Activities of leaders and active members of the banned organization Hizb ut-Tahrir have been suppressed in Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.

Two detained men specialized in the distribution of prohibited literature, and also involved children and teenagers in illegal activities. A separate group operated in Bishkek and Chui region.

“The suspects were detained during a meeting attended also by minors. The leader of the criminal group is a citizen of one of the neighboring states. He was placed in the temporary detention facility of the State Committee for National Security. During the search, a large amount of prohibited literature was confiscated from the detainees, as well as data storage devices. Appropriate examinations were scheduled,” the state committee said.
