A congress of Respublika party will take place in Bishkek this week. The political organization informed 24.kg news agency.
According to sources, there will, probably, be one issue on the agenda — election of a new leader and announcement that Respublika will participate in 2020 parliamentary elections without Ata Jurt.
«Omurbek Babanov is likely to announce his resignation from the post of chairman, and a new head will be elected. Two deputies of the Parliament — Mirlan Zheenchoroev and Kenzhebek Bokoev — claim this post,» the party said.
Recall, Respublika — Ata Jurt tandem was formed by mutual agreement between Omurbek Babanov and Kamchybek Tashiev in 2015 before the elections to the Parliament. The leaders of the two parties noted that the union became not an association of politicians, but of political forces.
